Cleankill Pest Control had cause to celebrate again when an employee was named winner of the Charles Keeble Award at the inaugural British Pest Management Awards. The award recognises outstanding commitment and performance in training and development.
Last week, I told you about my journey from civil servant to director of a pest control company and, this week, I have a tale which touches on the private life of a pest controller.
Before you worry, this is not going to turn into something starring Robin Asquith. In fact, I think I should let my partner, Sandie, tell the tale:

When Hurricane Angus struck the UK last week, it certainly created a great deal of damage. Surrey based pest control company Cleankill Pest Control has been named ‘Best Business for Staff Training and Development’ and ‘Best Green Business’ at the 2016 Croydon Business Excellence Awards.
Cleankill Pest Control has become the 14th pest control company in the UK to be certified BS EN 16636:2015 – The Management of Public Health Pest Species Including Bird Control. Receiving this accreditation confirms that Cleankill has the correct systems in place to deliver first-class, safe and efficient pest control services in the United Kingdom. Certification runs from 24th March 2016 until 23rd March 2019, with an interim audit during the middle year.
It has been a strange start to the year. As May slowly draws to a close, I have only just seen my first May bug. Once you have seen a flying May bug you won’t forget it; especially if one gets caught in your electric fly killer!
Cleankill as a company only has two assets – its staff and its customers, without these there is no business. Our responsibility is to train, encourage and support our staff in their work and in their welfare, so that they will in turn carry out their work to the best of their abilities and promote the image of Cleankill as the best provider of pest control services to their clients.
